EA1RKV

We are the Unión de Radioafeccionados de Vigo-Val Miñor, using the callsign EA1RKV. We are a meeting point for people who share a curiosity about radio waves, communication, and radio experimentation.

We want to bring amateur radio closer to our community and create a space for learning, exchanging knowledge, and sharing experiences. Whether you have been on the air for years or are just discovering this world, you will find a place here to learn more about it.

Our main objectives are the following:

• Train radio amateurs in all communicative and technical aspects, particularly targeting youth and women, who represent a small percentage in the current community.
• Meet collaboration requirements in matters of communications during emergency situations, putting the facilities and volunteers of URV-VM at the disposal of the authorities, to the extent possible.
• Comply with URV-VM regulations and advise associated members on official legislation, applicable regulations, and IARU recommendations related to the practice of radio communications in general, and radio amateur activity in particular.
• Foster camaraderie among radio amateurs, understanding our hobby as a bridge between cultures.
• Stimulate research in the fields of electronics, computer science, and Artificial Intelligence to apply to radio communications.
• Preserve the memory of those who dedicated their lives to promoting radio amateur activity in the Vigo region.
• Preserve historic transmission modes, such as telegraphy, through the training of telegraph operators and the organization of telegraph activities.
• Provide URV-VM members with services related to the practice of radio amateur activity, which may be established either directly or through agreements with other societies.

On this website you will find an introduction to the radio club and our blog, where we will share news, experiences, and articles about amateur radio from Vigo and Val Miñor.
